Hi there,

I've just installed a Hauppage Nova-T PCI card into my AMD 4000+, 2GB RAM system, hooked it up to my freeview antenna on the roof and followed all of the procedures for installing GBPVR.

I do however have some serious problems which are going to bother me enough to regret doing the whole thing Big Grin

Firstly, some of the radio station's channels audios sound rather like a Donald Duck record, speeded up, and skipping. This happens at the moment especially with TalkSport, 3C, Premier Radio, BBC 5L Sports Xtra, BBC R5 Live and oneworld - and the BBc Parliament channel on which I get audio but no video. After a while a bar appears on the GBPVR stating graphically that I have full signal strength, but zero quality.

I'm almost sure it's not a signal strength thing as I have 100% signal and quality from the Winter Hill transmitter, according to an app I picked up on the Hauppage forums.

Please help?

I have wondered if it's as a result of me also getting an unwanted signal from the Welsh transmitters.

Also a couple of n00b questions, as they say...

Please how do I record to MPG format instead of dvr-ms?

My EPG misses some channels, notably BBC ONE and quite a few others. Any reccomendations?

I have no other software installed of this type apart from GBPVR.

Thank you for any help in advance!

Listening to DVB radio channels isnt actually a supported feature. Its only through luck, and its similarity to a normal video channels, that its working at all.

I do intend to add a DVB radio future some time in the future, but I'm not sure exactly when that will be.

You need to download and install the Cyberlink mux, and set it as the preferred BDA Multiplexer.

Excellent, I'm really glad it's not a fault at my end, or a fault at all - with regards to the radio stations!

I've downloaded and paid for the Cyberlink suite and now have it selected as my BDA multiplexer too, thank you for that advice and for the excellent programme Smile

Right I altered the BDA multiplexer.

The resultant MPG recording is skipping badly, blocky in places, and looks like it's on fast forward.... Sad

Please help?

What version of the Cyberlink mux are you using? Can you post the output of MuxChecker?

Thank you for your kind help Smile

Output of MuxChecker...

GB-PVR has detected the following multiplex filters on your machine:

Found: CyberLink MPEG Muxer
FILE: C:\Program Files\CyberLink\Shared Files\PDMpgMux.ax
VERSION: 3.5.0107

Thats a really really old Cyberlink mux.

Most people are using the newer v5.0.1307 or v5.0.2202(?) muxes.

I updated the mux and it worked fine.

However, this has to be the most frustrating piece of software I've ever used after owning a computer of one form or another, since about the age of 10 Big Grin

I tried to do an EPG update this morning and lost half of my EPG channels. Now, I've finally updated it using XMLTV and have lost not only the EPG, but all of the channels too.

Absolute nightmare - very, very frustrating.

No, sorry, it was more a complaint about my own stupid mind that it was about your excellent software. Sorry if it came across wrongly.
