I woould say the reg patches are fine. The decoder files are probaly in question

All right. I was gonna start a new thread but this is as good as any...

How would one do these things the legal way?

And would there be a way of presenting this information (most of it) in a legal way, that only refers to alternativiely acquired decoder files?

I have no objections to this sort of info on the wiki. I wouldnt be concerned about any legal implications.

I don't have much spare time, but I'll look into it as time permits, providing you don't have to learn any programming language.

Sorry I wasn't more obvious. As you're the author, I wanted to ask whether you had planned to add the pages..

I was actually offering to do it, if you were busy..

@zehd - thank you, I would appreciate you adding these to the wiki.

Please hold-off though until i make some improvements to the notes. I'll PM you when I'm ready (I'm away this coming week, so I won't have time to edit the notes for a week or so).

Due to a wonky hard drive (recycled from a TiVo, wouldn't you know!), I had to rebuild my GBPVR just a day after I got it working.

I used your recommendations of Cole codecs and your registry tweak and had things working smoothly before, but after the rebuild I've hit a small snag.

I've got a widescreen TV so the Auto-Stretch to aspect is a very important feature for me. Now, though, using the cyber codec doesn't allow for F7-ing the video. Your previous registry tweak, as I recall, was somewhat shorter and not in a scrolling window, so I'm wondering if there's something different there.

Do you know what might cause the Cole Cyber codec to stop allowing aspect correction through GBPVR with the F7 key?

Do you see any OSD? If not, your Cyberlink decoder may not be compatible with VMR, which will result in F7 not working (and no OSD).

I haven't changed the patch, but simply applied the forum server code wrapper around the text to stop unwanted spaces occuring in the displayed text.
Check the Enable VMR dwords are in the registry and set to correct value, and the GBPVR Playback config is exactly the same as what it was previously (eg selected or default decoders), and use graphedit to open lastgraph in the GBPVR program directory to check if the correct decoders are actually being used.

Edit: just remembered I did add "UIVMode"=dword:00000001 (auto de-interlacing) which is implicit default anyway, and all this is doing is explicitly specifying the default.
