GoldDragon, your problem is different:

Quote:5/3/2006 9:32:47 PM.929 ERROR [318] Error UpdateEPG()'ing: System.Net.WebException: The underlying connection was closed: The remote name could not be resolved.
It looks like your machine isnt able to resolve the "labs.zap2it.com" name. This maybe a result of a firewall, or possible a DNS issue, or software firewall blocking GB-PVR's access to the DNS, or maybe something else...

Yikes. I'm not sure where to go from here. I haven't changed a thing on my computer in months. How do you suggest I proceed? Are there some other tweaks I can play with in GB-PVR? Should I be calling Comcast? Any help is appreciated.

Do you have a firewall? If so, hardware one or software one? Just as a dummy test, you could open up a cmd line window and type
Code:
nslookup labs.zap2it.com
I get this answer:

Code:
Server:  [masked-ip]
Address:  [masked-ip]

Non-authoritative answer:
Name:    zap2it.tmsdatadirect.com
Address:  206.18.98.152
Aliases:  labs.zap2it.com
I'm not always right

Sub, please don't spend any more time on this issue...because I'm a dufus.

I remember now that Comcast did change their DNS servers not long ago, and...well...I guess it would help if I actually used the correct IP addresses for those servers, huh?

I can't believe I missed this one. Maybe I need more than 4hrs. sleep?

GoldDragon

...and thanks for the suggestion, Stefan. Much appreciated.

I also have comcast but I am in the east. NY state.

The nslookup I get the same results as posted.

Sorry, I don't know what to do about the DNS server. Could someone explain this to me?

Thanks...:)

You set up your dns server when you first installed comcast; you probably got instructions from comcast how to do that. If comcast changed your dns server, you should have gotten information about that from them. You need that information in order to be able to change. Ask them.
