I have installed GBPVR to manage recordings made from my Hauppauge HVR1300 TV card. I can use the scheduler all ok and the recordings are saved in MPEG2 fine. I can watch these programs on my PC, but if I try and run them via my MPV, I can select the recorded program through the interface to the point of playing it. Once I select to play the file, I get the green start triangle but then just a blank screen.

I can watch XVID movies via the MVP fine, but not these MPEG files. I guess this a configuration issue, but I cannot see how the MVP can be configured via the GBPVR / MVP interface.

Anyone had this problem? Anyone have any ideas how to resolve it?

Look forward to any suggestions.

This is not something I am too familiar with but, I know that my digital card (Dvico) records mpegs that are at too high a bitrate/resolution to play on the mvp.

Does this card save a native stream that is similar to DVD? If so you may need to record at a lower bitrate for the mvp to be able to decode it natively.

Yes, I have it set at DVD bitrate quality. I will try and lower this. Cheers for the tip.

are you sure it's not recording transport streams instead of program streams?
[both are mpeg2 and will play on pc,but only PS on MVP,no TS]

Were these MPEG2 files recorded by GB-PVR or something else?

Are you recording analog or DVB?

I'm running a HVR1300 card and a Pinnacle 300i card, both cards are used as DVB cards only. I use the Cyberlink MPEG multiplexer (VERSION: 5.0.0813) and have have no broblems with live TV or recordings.

I am recording DVB as well. I think from another posting I have made, I think my problem is I assumed the HVR 1300 card did hardware decoding when streaming, but it does not. I need to install the same one as you. I have got a full copy of cyberlink PowerDVD 6. I will instal this and try again.

I will report back in due course.

I have tried cyberlink powerdvd 6 but no joy. Tried using the Nero digiatal decoder still no joy.

I reckon it will be something obvious but I just canno see it myself.

Do I have to install the Hauppauge MVP software first? As I am using GBPVR, I did't think this was necessary.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.
