So I went through the config and thought I had everything good. I did the Tuning Assistant and it went through the channels (no sound tho Sad )

Then when I go into GBPVR and try to watch LiveTV I get "Error: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt."

I have read that some people changed decoders and it fixed this. It did not fix it for me. I can get live tv in Windows Media Center but not GBPVR. Can anyone help me?

I am using an ATI 550 Pro card.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

It looks like you've configured you capture source to use a USB-UIRT IR Blaster, but you dont have one plugged into your machine?

A USB-UIRT is a specific product. See http://www.usbuirt.com. It is an IR Blaster used for controlling an external set top box.

Infact, that 'channel changer' setting is all about changing channels on external equipment. It has nothing to do with your remote control.
Assuming you're not trying to control an external set top box, then it should be set to 'none'.

You mean your remote? Whether you can use the remote that came with your ATI 550 Pro card depends on exactly which type of remote you got. The ones that are sold by Sapphire, come with an MCE remote, so you set the 'remote type' setting on the 'DVD & Remote' page to 'MCE'. If you've got the MSI ATI 550 Pro, then it's remote doesnt work with GB-PVR. If you've got the genuine ATI ATI 500 Pro, then there were some plugins posted some where here that would get this going...

Ok.. I changed it to none and got the remote working. Thanks for the help...

I also have a digital cable box that I have connected to the tuner via svideo.. Can I set gbpvr up to switch between the two inputs? I love the NFL Network and would love to figure out how I could easily switch back and forth to record between my regular cable and the few digital channels i like. Media Center could receive the input from the cable box but said I needed to have remote setup that worked with both the cable box and cpu..I doubt the cyberlink remote will work with my cable box and i doubt the universal motorola remote that came with the cable box will work with my cpu...

You dont really switch inputs. Its all done on channels instead.

You'd need to setup to capture sources, one for the tuner, and one for the svideo input. The EPG would need to be set appropriately for each capture source so that it only only contained the appropriate channels. GB-PVR will then decide what capture source to use based on the channel you're trying to watch.

ok.. there's no easy solution for setting up the program to control the cable box so it can change the cable boxes channels? or do i need to manually change the channels myself outside the program? Trying to figure out if I can integrate everything into one program and one remote control..

You'd need an IR Blaster for this, like the USB-UIRT mentioned earlier.

It just sounds like you need to add an IR Blaster to your set up for controlling the cable box. There is no problem controlling everything with one remote. It confuses a lot of people, but an IR Blaster is entirely different from your remote control...
