It already does this. You select them on the playback tab of the config. That said, if you pick a filter that is not in functioning state (broken registry settings, or whatever reason), then directshow will pick some alternative for you.

Can you play the proper MPEG2 files in GB-PVR?

Try running GSpot on the suspect MPEG2 files. It gives me way more information than I could ever use. One of the best features is that it'll show you the default DirectShow filter graphs as well as generate its own recommended graph.

Thankfully, I've had no problem with GB-PVR recording; it has worked very well for me in general. PVR500 in my case.

My only problem is terrible sound from the analog TV tuner, but that has nothing to do with GB-PVR (it's equally bad when checked with WinTV2K).

Hi,

So I narrowed down the problem. It only occurs when recording and only when the NVIDIA audio decoder is selected. The audio on the files is corrupted. If I disconnect the audio, the video plays perfectly. I switched to AC3filter and everything works again.
