Is there a RecordingInProgress.png in the panel subdirectory?

With respect to recordings showing up, check your config.xml file. You should see a line like <PanelShowRecordingStatus>True</PanelShowRecordingStatus>. This is set on the VA plug-in's config tab.

Jeff:

Yes that png file is there. I haven't changed the skin since the upgrade, i was waiting to see if there were any changes in VA. I didn't see any so I'm thinking no changes were needed. The <PanelShowRecordingStatus>True</PanelShowRecordingStatus> is in my config xml file. Not sure why it's not showing up.

As for the deleting issue. I'll attach my logs as requested. I did two test recordings this afternoon. One was just 10 minutes of the end of inside edition. It showed up in video's as it should. I tried to play it and it disappeared from the lists, i never had a chance to try and delete it. I went to the recordings plug in and it was listed there and was able to play and delete it just fine.

I did a second recording of a show named port o call. This one i scheduled and let run to the end. It showed up in VA as it should.I played it just fine. When it was over the icon for a file having been seen showed up. perfect so far. I then deleted it. It seemed to go away. I checked the directory and sure enough it had been deleted. Going back into videos again the file listing was back. after a couple of closing and openings of videos it did finally disappear from the lists.

the recording in progress icon never did come on for either of the above recordings.

Anything else i can do to test I'm as always happy to help out.

How did you do the delete? For the file system or from GBPVR and, if from GBPVR, from what plug-in? Also, if you delete from the video archive plug-in is it from the what's new list of the file list.

Thanks

Jeff Wrote:The VAPanel-PC.log and/or VAPanel-MVP.log will show you the messages that are being posted to the panel. Check around the time that the recording starts to see if they are showing up. GBPVR does not currently generate any events when recordings start or stop so the panel only checks every 15 minutes (by default) or each time you exit the plug-in and return back to the main menu so there can be a lag before the recording shows up. One way to check things is to go into the video archive plug-in while a show is being recorded and then exit back out to the menu. That should cause a message to be posted right away.

Jeff

How can I change the 15 minutes between checks, and about how long does it take to check on your computer, µs, ms, secs?

I just checked and it is <gasp> hard coded. Almost all of my timers have secret settings to specify them in cong.xml but not this one. I wil update it for the next release. Refilling the list usually takes a few hundred milliseconds.

I deleted it from within video archiver. The file did in fact delete, just it's name was still being listed in video archiver, at least for a short time, 2 or three open and closes of the plug and it was gone.

I have the what's new section kind of hobbled. It confuses my wife. I have it unchecked and set to zero.

I had recordings scheduled from 8 PM to 11 PM. I restarted GBPVR.exe at 7:45. VA Panel came up correctly, Next at 8, another from 9 to 10, and yet another from 10 to 11.

At 8:30 VA Panel was still cycling the same information and the "Recording" image was not visible. I went into Videos and came back out. VA Panel was correctly updated, including the "Recording" image.

The info in VA Panel remained the same for the rest of the evening. At 11:20, VA Panel was still recording till 9 PM.

Hope this helps.

Best Regards,

Can you zip up and post (or email me) your *.log and *.log.old files from the jeff directory next time it happens?

Thanks

Here is an update you can try. I have added a bit more debugging for the delete problems Nighwalker has been having and I have added a new parameter to the config section called, PendingRecordingsRefreshInterval which specifies the timer interval (in minutes, default 15) for checking the pending list.

Also, I added a new option filed to the RecordingInProgress composite image. @Message can be included in the image to display the name of the show being recorded and the stop time.

My GBPVR system is down right now so I can't test anything.
