If you downloaded build 47 prior to 9/17/2006 @ 8:05 p.m. EDT then you need to download it again if you want to be able to control VLC when streaming your recordings, videos or music.....I missed a class in the original upload of the build. :o

Build 47 link.

Excellent addition!!
streaming from video library works great... fastforward/rewind are not quite responsive... but they sorta work..

before I do a bunch of research on something that might already have been done... have you looked into using ffmpeg to stream into a flv? so we can have a fancy flash player, and perhaps eventually ability to watch live TV right off the webadmin?

Again.. Excellent work !

I have it set to 10 seconds....with the response time from the request to VLC on the server and the respmose back to the VLC player on your client it may be taking most of that 10 seconds.....I will at some point provide the ability to set your own seek amount (Hours, minutes, seconds).

GBPVR API does not support tv via the web so live tv is not an option. As for flash....I belive that VLC can transcode more file types then ffmpeg. I have not heard of any requests for flash via the EWA.....

Did you have an idea for it?

I have watched PGA using the web admin using Stream. (live TV).
I think it buffered a few seconds, then was able to stream it.
It worked very well.

Is Stream a type of software?

you know what i meant.
Using the stream button from EWA, WMP was able to watch TV Live (well with a few seconds delay).

Actually....I didn't.....:o

It was too obvious.....I had never really thought about it but when you start a recording and then stream it you are watching near-live TV. Unfortunatly there is no way to change channels and such.....I may be able to come up with an option that would let you start the stream from the guide and when you end it simply delete the recording.....I'll give it some thought....

back... my wishlist (trust me I dont expect anyone here to take it on) is to have a viewer much like the player that NBC uses on all of its networks.. all you need is a flash 7/8 enabled browser and there is a nice menu on the right of video's and a well sized flash window to view the episode, movie, whatever..

its really a very slick piece of work someone did... If I had the framework, I think could hook into the gbpvr database of videos...

anyhow... thats the long vision I had.. but I would like to be able to play videos in a flash FLV player or something... I dont know the entire mechanics... so basically ignore my comments as far out wishing LOL

I do know how to stream the LiveTV with VLC (as long the recording service dont have it locked).... but what you mentioned would work pretty well I think ...start a recording.. and then stream that.. delete when view is stopped.
