Volume osd, mute not working

Hello,

I have the wireless MVP. I have never installed any of the software that it came with. Everything is working great with GBPVR, except that I have no feedback on screen when I am adjusting volume, and the mute button also does not do anything.

I have seen in other threads, people talking about the Hauppauge built in osd for volume... but I have never had any Hauppauge osd of any kind, only the GBPVR displays. I am actually happy I don't have any of the native osd coming up, because it would seem like it gets in the way.

Since I'm not really sure how volume adjustment works on the MVP, I don't know where to start troubleshooting this. I am using the default dongle.bin that comes with gbpvr 0.98.8.

This is the normal behaviour with v0.98.8. Some earlier dongles included a Hauppauge volume OSD, but their current version does not do this.

I'll probably add some native volume control + OSD in a future release.

Thanks for responding so quickly! Good to know you are planning on adding the display sometime down the road.

Also, do you know anything about the muting issue I mentioned? When I press mute on the remote, the audio does not mute.

Did they just turn it off, or did they add some option to control the volume OSD? (I thought I read you asked them for that somewhere?) I liked the volume OSD I had with the older dongle, as long as it doesn't have other junk with it. (I mean the really old one, with just a bunch of squares.) The 98.13 release notes mention a new volume OSD, but that you can't really control it on the MVP, so is that idea dead for the MVP?

They entirely changed the way the built in OSD graphics were done in the MVP. This was a slight improvement when used with the Hauppauge MVP software, but was a pain in the bum when used with GB-PVR. Under their current system, if enabled, they also overlay all sorts of crap during playback etc with file positions etc, which was at odds with the OSD graphics that GB-PVR generates.
