I have tried to add GBPVR as a network share on the popcorn hour. I tried by browsing to it via the "add a network share" and browsing to the mvpmc folder. But when I add it, and then open the GB-PVR.html file, I get an error. How can I make this work so that if I rename the html file to index.htm, it will launch when I open that share?

BTW, that dummies installer is da bomb !

I'm not sure what is happening here since the logic behind opening the GB-PVR.htm file should be the same whether you come from the Network Browser or through the share, the use the same permissions etc. You would need to power off the NMT to toggle between the two modes.

Loading gbpvr.cgi could fail if you changed the name of the share, or if file permissions are wrong,

Copying GB-PVR.htm to index.htm or index_sd.htm should autoload it but this is something I don't test.

One other thing I noticed: if I start playing music from Music Library, and then cause GBPVR to restart its service (i.e. changing its configuration) the music will restart when the service starts again, and popcorn hour goes back to its own screen. I don't know if that is usable info, just thought I'd mention it.
Shame about the network share deal. It'd be way cool to add it as a share and get it start with the click of a button.

I didn't say that a good index.htm file can't be built, I know journey4712 was able to integrate a gbpvr icon on the main menu, it just is something I am not interested in following up on. The thread on the NMT is a tome.

You are correct, configuring gbpvr while media is playing will cause a reset as the buffer plays out. You will learn very quickly if you do this while a significant other is watching something in another room.

LOL, I can only imagine. I think the GBPVR is the best thing that can happen to a PCH. I have talked 3 other friends of mine into buying them, and you can bet, GBPVR is going on them.
Thanks again.

Woo Hoo. I figured it out!! To make it happen go to Web Services and click Add/Edit. Then, I added for the Name1 field: GBPVR. In the URL1 tab, I added: http://localhost.drives:8883/NETWORK_SHA...rowser.cgi

then I clicked SAVE.
Now, I can just go to web services, click on GBPVR and it starts right up. This is so excellent.

That is similar to my setup expect I use the mvpmc share, the network browser doesn't service a full power off.

I'm trying to get this to work already for 1 week to but can't get it to work. I've altered the GB-PVR.htm but nothing up to now helps.

My share is mvpmc and located on my f: drive it has al the authentication it needs i can navigate to it with the network browser, made an share called mvpmc on the popcorn and when i select it, if first shows me the movie/audio/photo/file page and when i choose file i see the .html file. I can start it but none of the links work.

I've made an extra link in the html file to see if i can select the .cgi file.
<b>file:///opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/NETWORK_SHARE/mvpmc/gbpvr.cgi</b>
When i choose this one i see the contents of the file on my screen in white.

I've got the latest popcorn firmware for the a100 running, network setting are on manual (took me 2 days to find out the culprit has a bug which prevents using a dns name in my links). My pc is running Vista, and the recordingservice can interact with the desktop, gb-pvr is running fine and all the nmt boxes are ticked. The startmeup file has been altered by me with a correct editor (to keep the ^n in place)

Í've got the following questions hopefully someone can help me:
1) To enter the in this thread mentioned url via webservices I need to fill in a underscore (_) but where on my remote can I find this?

2) The orginal file had a link called:
<a href="http://localhost.drives:8883/NETWORK_SHARE/PCNAME:SHARENAME/gbpvr.cgi">GB-PVR aangepast</a>

I've changed it into:
<a href="http://localhost.drives:8883/NETWORK_SHARE/192.168.1.14:mvpmc/gbpvr.cgi">GB-PVR aangepast</a>

Is this correct?

3) I've tried to download the telnet option from mvallevand which can run from a usbstick but the url is no longer working on megaupload or something. Has anyone this package for me to download?
