Hi,

I've been searching and reading for hours trying to find how to setup my machine to automatically cut the commercials out and then convert that file to xvid. I'm working with a Hauppauge Win-TV PVRII 250 and have web admin setup and streaming stuff setup and it works excellent. Now i'm just trying to go the extra step so that the video files made will be without comercials and nice and small file sizes.

I've read about postprocessing.bat and parallellprocessing.bat, but cannot seem to find these files in my gbpvr directory or even anywhere on my computer. I installed this version on Monday - GBPVR09808.msi, and I'm not sure if it was made differently (no processing.bat files) or if I was supposed to make those and missed a step along the road.

My 2 big questions are...
1) How can I set up GBPVR to automatically cut out the comericals?
2) How can I set up GBPVR to automatically convert my huge mpg files to xvid (.avi) files?

Even if it's a link to another thread with more answers it would be appreciated, I'm just so lost in all the documentation.

Thanks,

Charlie

Ok, so the one thing I did find out was that you have to create your own PostProcessing.bat file.

What I did was turn off the comercial skip settings in the processing tab in GBPVR Settings. I just used the PostProcessing.bat file from the GBPVR Wiki site.

The only thing I have to figure out now is how to automatically convert my .mpg file to a xvid file.

Thanks for the response,

Charlie

You can set up transcoding from within the config app but since you're using comskip from the postprocessing.bat file, you should look at some of the scripts on this forum for transcoding.

Here's one I created for transcoding that includes comskip processing:

http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utili...anscodeCut

Just point the script to the apps that will be used. You can use Dirmon to scan selected directories to be transcoded or if you want everything transcoded, just rename the script to postprocessing.bat.

Hope this helps.
