I don't think there is a resistor but I am not positive. I am not sure what you mean by the beanbag. Mine plugs into the 150 card and I straight wire to the emitter. (with a few jacks to make installation cleaner) I do know that I used the LED off an old remote without any resistor. It worked a lot better than the Hauppauge one. I know I probably don't have to say this but the emitter can only be wired one way since it is a diode. If you reverse the polarity it does not work.
