Hi out there,

a few days ago my "Mr. Data" started to refuse showing me the tv guide. Instead of the tv guide, I get the following error message <see attachment>. May I kindly ask anybody why this happens? In fact, I didn't change ANYTHING - this phenomenon really appeared all of a sudden.

I attach all my logs as well.

Thank you for any assistance and help!

Greeting, Alex

PS: Is it likely that this problem can't appear if I update to the new version of gbpvr that does not use access? I alway think not to change any running system, but if this helps...

I'm pretty sure this bug was fixed sometime in the last year. Time to upgrade my friend...

Ok. Thank you.
May I upgrade from 0.93.10 to the recent version directly?

Greetings, Alex

PS: I didn't know it was a bug since gbpvr is running perfectly stable now since ages...

I only ever test upgrading from the previous release, so I dont really know the answer to that question. You might get lucky.

I would suggestion going to v0.97.13 first (http://www.gbpvr.com/GBPVR09713-for-upgrade-only.msi), then to v0.98.8. Before doing this though, remember to install the .NET 2.0 runtime, which is required for both of these versions.

Thanks. I will try to update this weekend.
Just to be on the safe side I will copy the whole gbpvr-folder. If anything goes wrong, will I be able to return to the old version by simply copying back this folder or are there any registry settings that have to be undone as well? What about the .NET 2.0 thing?

Greetings, Alex

I dont know whether this will work or not. This isnt the recommended install procedure, so not something I test.

There are no version specific registry settings to worry about. There is only one important registry setting, and it only ocntains the install directory, but it hasnt changed in two years.

When you install .NET 2.0, .NET 1.1 is still installed and continues to function just fine.

Just updated to v0.97.13 (which is only the first of two steps). Everything looks fine - there are a few sexy features I didn't even know about Rolleyes

There is only one new app in the gbpvr folder I don't know what to do with: "re-register files". What does this app do? What files will be re-registered by pressing this button?

Thank for any hints.

Greetings, Alex

You dont need to use this. Its just there in case I tell people to run it after looking at their logs.
