I was watching a movie recording in GBPVR when all of a sudden the video froze and my PC got automatically rebooted (seems like the pc went out of resources). After the restart when I try to start GBPVR, it comes up using 99% CPU resources and it stays like that. And understandably it gets so unresponsive that I unable to do anything in gbpvr including scrolling menu items or watching live TV.

Usually GBPVR used to 90%+ CPU only while starting up for 2-3 seconds and then the CPU usage would go down back to normal. Only when playing back a recording it used around 40-50% CPU since it was doing the decoding. But this time it does not relinquish it's CPU resources at all and holds on to 99% cpu resources all the time.

Please let me know what information I could provide to troubleshoot this. And please point me to the location of the log files that I may need to provide.

These are my PC specs:

AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Venice 1.8GHz 512KB L2 Cache Socket 939 CPU
MSI K8NGM2-FID GeForce 6150 Motherboard
1 GB RAM
Hauppague WinTV 500 TV tuner card

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

Which process is using all the CPU, GBPVR.exe or one of the others?

If temporarily set you remote type to default instead of USB-UIRT, does it help?

It is GBPVR.exe. All the other GBPVR related processes are well behaved at below 3% or so.

Yes absolutely. The problem goes away if I set the remote type to default.

Hmm, ok - at least we've narrowed it down. I'm not really sure what to suggest though. Have you tried unplugging and replugging the USB-UIRT since this occurred?

Yes, but it did not help. As soon as I set the remote type to USB-UIRT, GBPVR.exe continues to run at 99% CPU. Restarting the PC too did not help.

Is this a bug with gbpvr or the usb-uirt, or is it something wrong with the way I am doing things. Or maybe incompatibility with some of the other H/W I am using?

Any further information/instructions would help very much. Since I am using a cable STB, I really need to use the usb-uirt.
