After completely disabling my firewall suddenly I get different error messages and voila suddenly it also generates the missing log files. I'm hoping now we can get somewhere

Can you check the device number you have set in the capture source settings? It looks like you've got it configured to use the second PVR150 in your machine.

Okay it was set on #2 I can't remember exactly why anymore, So I reset it to capture device#1

Anyway now when I try to initiate live TV it says "Object reference not set to an instance of an object"

GBPVR seems to be having trouble in general though, it has failure in playback messages even trying to record previously recorded video

This exact scenario is happening to myself as well. That "Object refefernece not set to an instance of an object" has been frustrating me to no end.

WinTV works for me, as well as SageTV.

It should be noted that I only have one PVR150 in my machine, if that migth help eliminate the confusion of different input cards.

Zip and attach logs now that you've corrected the device number so I can take a look.

Reproduce your problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

"object reference...." error message for myself was corrected by selecting a different decoder, specifically the Intervideo set of decoders. Suddenly I can play back recorded video and live TV. Everything is very stable and working wonderfully so far. I even have it successfully streaming to my MVP. Thanks for some of the guidance along the way.

If you still want me to post my logs as a reference then I will.

Thanks again

Hello,

I have the same problem with my wintv 150 card, but since my computer is a 3 years old, by using the software decoding I get a very low quality (the video is "fragmented" and the refresh rate is low). the card drivers are the latest.
When I use the WinTv recording program, I'm using the card hardware for decoding and the performance is much better.
Is there a way to let GB-pvr know the card version I'm using?

By the way, I installed GB-pvr on a computer without PVR card and I still got the same hardware decoding device (None - use software decoder/Huappauge PRV350/ Sigma designs XCard) so the list is not according to the hardware I have in my testing computer.

The PVR150 does not have a hardware DEcoder. It has a hardware ENcoder - entirely different thing. An encoder is used during recording. A decoder is used during playback.

You have to use software decoding with a PVR150.
