Hi Guys,

I have a problem with setting up my tv channels. 6 months ago I installed GBPVR for the first time and used the tunning assistent to lookup for my tv channels. I did write down all the channels on a paper note and put them in GBPVR (following the quick walktrue on the Wiki)

After that I was able to watch all the channels correctly via my MVP in the living. After a couple of months of testing and trying the most plugins it was time for the next step .... New hardware and a fresh install of GBPVR (version 9808)

Again I followed the quick walktrue on the wikki and used the same channels from the paper note as 6 mounts ago but now al the channels a messed up. What was on channel number 1 is now on channel 6 and so on.

O... I used also the same xml file (for the epg data) from the old pc ....and after an update of the epg all the channel names where corectly showing up in the config of GBPVR.

Is there someting changed ??? Or do I someting wrong ????

Please help

Do your channels source from an analog or digital TV card?

I don't know for sure whether any of the XML schema affecting tuners changed between the versions of GB-PVR you're trying, but in general it is a bad idea to directly use "old" XML configurations in "new" installations.

I know there is some internal DB shape change support in GB-PVR to convert "old" configurations to "new" formats but I had no luck with this on my 0.96.x->0.97.y upgrade. I ended up reconfiguring everything from scratch on 97 and it worked great. My 0.97.y->0.98.8 shape change worked much better, however. That could all be due to my own inexperience with GB-PVR, though.

If I were you I'd try configuring my tuning sources from scratch with the new GB-PVR version.

Thanks for you're quick response Braklet.

I use a pvr350 analog card. All my channel names where in place after i copied my xml file and configured it in GBPVR setup, also everything is in place on my epg listings for so far i can see.

I will have a closer look when i am at home.

Lots of users from your part of the world had to enter frequency override registry settings, to cope with the non-standard frequencies often used in the netherlands.

I dont have much more than that to give you, but if you do a forum search you'll hopefully find a bit more info.

Hi Don,

Sub mentioned frequency overrides for your analog tuning which may well be an issue. I'm afraid I've no experience with that.

I can say that I've seen "channel 1 shows up as EPG channel 6" and that in my case it was due to EPG modifications breaking the connection between the channels defined in my "capture sources" and the channel # as used in the EPG.

To fix that, I ended up deleting all my capture source channels, quitting config.exe (so that the changes were written to my DB), restarting config.exe and reimporting everything from my EPG provider (US: zap2it.com). It should also be possible to do that via manual editing.

Good luck.

Guys,

Thanks for you're help. I think the problem is solved. I did a search for frequency override and found this on the wikki

http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utili...gAssistant

Follow those instructions i found this site

http://www.prize.nl/software/pvr/

There i downloaded the tool freqcopy and followed the instructions. (installing the haupauge software, scan for channels, run the freqcopy tool)

The result was that I was able to find the channels in tunning assistant. Now am running tunning assistant to find the channels so i can put them in GBPVR. The strange thing is that during installing 6 mounts ago i did not get this problems.

Thanks all for the help !!!!!
