Cannot run GB-PVR on Vista 5744, reports that the Runtime cannot be found but doesn't say which version is missing?

Does vista come with .NET 2.0? If not you'll need to install it.

Yes .NET 2.0 is installed as default in Vista. Would assume that it is the same version as is currently available for XP but with M$ I guess that is a bad assumption to make, will try and install version on the web.

Thanks

I attempted to install the .NET 2.0 from the MSDN download site and it told me that it was already installed, not sure what version checking the software is doing but it doesn't work at present in Vista.

Your description of the problem is pretty vague. A detailed error message or screenshot might help.

Unfortunately the error message is very vague too...

When I double click on the GB-PVR icon I get the following error dialog

GBPVR.exe - .NET Framework Initialization Error
Unable to find a version of the runtime to run this application.

From a review of the Microsoft.NET directory I have

v1.0.3705
v1.1.4322
v2.0.50727
v3.0

Of the Framework installed.

You should check the Windows Event Viewer. It might contain more info.

Unfortunately there is nothing in the logs, I checked all of them and attempted to start the app and refreshed but nothing appeared. I have the .NET SDK 2.0 installed, as well as the latest DirectX SDK so I should have everything needed.

Centimetre - I too am having the same issues with Vista RC2. I installed Dotnet 1.1 but unfortunately I do not have an older version of GBPVR to test it with. Since the current version olny works with 2.0 I was wondering if one of the older 1.1 compat versions would work. Have you tried this?

I'm bummed that it does not work with Vista at this time but I'm sure it will soon (fingers crossed).
