I have a set-up with two dvb-t tuners (French terrestrial) and one pvr-150 capturing a sat feed (UK satellite) I have no problems with the uk epg, but see nothing in the French one. Perhaps something is wrong with the xml file I have, but it is readable with an external standalone xmltv viewer. Any ideas?

It seems to import the listings just fine with this file for me.

Can you click the 'update epg' button for this capture source, then zip and attach your config.exe.log?

Here are the logs. Updating the epg gives me an error in priorityrecording.exe

Thats most likely your problem then. Try removing the priorityrecording plugin you've installed.

I didn't know I had installed a PriorityRecording plugin. What is it exactly? Could it have been installed with something else?

Its a utility someone developed for controlling the priority of recordings. If you didnt install it separately, then someother plugin you installed would have had it bundled in with it.

I'm sure this has been asked zillions of times but how do I get rid of a plugin. Specially since I don't even know I installed it?

you can usually just remove it from the plugins directory in your gbpvr install directory (ie. c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\plugins\)
