Wow, what a weird problem.
I uninstalled GBPVR, the crashes still occured after that.
I looked around for some crash dumps, because windows sometimes writes them out when crashes occur (search for that on the internet, it could come in useful for you one day).
Anyway I scanned the registry with a program called "REGCURE". I had to pay for it, but at the end of the day it finds a lot more things than any free registry scanner I have ever found.
Anyway it seems to have done the trick. Must have been something dodgy in the registry.
