I need help, I want to use ms-dvr for bda multiplexer. I have the cyberlink mux too, but it won't work. When I use the ms-dvr in the option, it will pop up as an active window showing the show i want to record, but no record are done. I understand that I do not have the ms-dvr mux register. But which file is that mux? I have win xp sp2 with ati hdtv wonder. I dont see any reason that I do not that ms mux. I also ran the mux checker and it does not show that I have the ms-dvr mux installed. Only have the cyber link one. THe only recording option that works for me now is the transport stream. But I dont like the .ts format. I can work with ms-dvr format better. thx for the help.

I'm assuming you're still running the previous v0.97.13 release? If so, either upgrade, or look at post #4 of the thread title 'v0.97.13 survival guide'.

Tried the new version records fine. but a another annoying problem. I looked at the survival guide for the new version, didnt see this reported.

I can get into the guide to choose a show or watch live tv fine, and change channel fine once inside the show. However, if I go back to the guide, and select another show or channel, I got this error msg:

"no tuners are available to watch the requested channel. You can choose to watch one of the currently recording programmes. But i'm not recording any. THnkas for the help.

Is it a known bug that when "transport stream" is selected as the multiplexer, the tuning utility says "Unable to start BDA device" and crashes? I figured out that putting it back to dvr-ms for the tuning fixes the problem, but it did require a few hours of pondering.

Yes, its normal. The 'transport stream' option isnt for you guys to use, and wont work in normal circumstances - its just something I use for my development and testing.

Hi sub,

How about putting a compiler conditional statement in the code so when you compile for release, it won't include the "transport stream" as an option for users?

I used to do that, but I occasionally talk a user through how to use this option when I'm doing support and want to capture a transport stream.

I might add a registry setting or something so that its hidden by default though...

Hi Sub!
Is there a chance that you will ever grant access to the muxer-filter config pages? You did this already with the decoders...

I have problems with high bitrate recordings. I believe this could be solved by telling the mux-filter that it has to use a different mux-format than just standard "mpeg".

cyberlink (v...2022) has a nice config tab, intervideo muxer (v...86.4) too.

Maybe you could grant access just for testing purposes....

Unlikely sorry. There is no way for these settings to be saved by GB-PVR for later use. It only works for the video decoders because the video decoder settings tend to be "sticky", ie changing them sets some registry settings which are automatically get reloaded each time that decoder is used. Unfortunately the mux settings dont tend to work this way and would be forgotten as soon as you close the config app.

To change these types of settings, the manufacture of these filters would need to give me information on their private API.
