Sound seems dull - may not be stereo

Hauppauge PVR-250, GBPVR 98.13. I had been trying (and fighting choppy video) with BeyondTV 4.4, and decided to go with GBPVR (no choppy video!). The live AND recorded sound sounds dull, and maybe not stereo, under GBPVR

I checked, and stereo is enabled in the direct.ini file.

Any suggestions?

First I'd suggest finding out if its a playback or recording problem. Does a recording sound better played in another player?
