Has anyone else been having the problem of the sound stopping during a new program start time. I'll be watching livetv and if you hit the button to show the progress bar on the top, it will show how much time is left in the program, where you can rewind it to, and the length of the program. Whenever it gets to the end of a show, and the meter gets full, there is a slight stutter in the video, and then it picks up again with no sound.

I'm guessing GB-PVR is starting a new livetv file, and it's losing the sound somehow in the process. Is there anyway around this? The prior versions did not have this problem for me. I'm running a Hauppauge 350.

I'm having the same problem with 2 250 cards. I have a thread in the MVP section. Good news, you're not alone, bad news, I havn't been able to fix it. Tried updating the drivers with no effect. I plan on working on this this weekend. I'll keep you posted of any progress I make.

Thx Lucas_24, I'm glad I'm not the only one going mad. I ended up uninstalling and going back to 227. The 2311 was also soft locking up the video occassionally, which 227 has never done. Hopefully it gets fixed, 2311 was much more responsive and the time shifting was nice.

I've tried numerous times to reproduce this on my PVR150 and my PVR350 today, but I always seem to get sound working properly.

Ok, same here. I guess there are some newer unofficial drivers out, but as I'm not getting any lockups, and you are using the same drivers with no problems, it must be something else.

Do you have any other suggestions that I could try, are you using a specific audio renderer/decoder or system defaults? Are there any buffer/pre-delay settings that would affect this?

Thanks

I'm just using the defaults.

Well, I have a similar issue here. I use the skipping functionality a lot to "get rid of" commercials. Every now and then, when the film continues, there is no sound for a couple of seconds. After a short time it comes back and everything seems to be fine again. At that point I can perform another skipping.

BUT: When I try another skip during the sound outage the machine freezes completely and I have to press the reset button.

My configuration:
WinXP Prof SP2 English
PVR350 with driver v 1.17.390.22029

Update, I completely uninstalled GB-PVR, deleted the directory from Program Files, and deleted all LiveTV files from my livetv directory and then re-installed 2311 fresh. It's been running for around 8 hours now and I still have sound.

I'm crossing my fingers that something in my prior config file was screwing it up. All I can remember changing in it before was some of the stretch/offset positioning in a couple of sections. I don't know if maybe with the new default CBR/VBR settings, 2311 might like it better. I may have had my CBR settings changed before, I can't remember. I'm going to go back in there today to offset the screen positioning a little, but I don't see where that would affect the sound stopping like it was.
