I'm having some trouble updating my EPG. It's supposed to be automatic, but my machine had some issues lately where the CPU fan died at the same time as the case exhaust fan, leading to overheating issues and the thing kept shutting down.

I got that straightened out, but my TV Listings are all empty. When I attempt to update the EPG I get the following error:

11/25/2006 11:49:33 PM.875 WARNING [1] Unexpected error removing old shows from EPG: File sharing lock count exceeded. Increase MaxLocksPerFile registry entry.

I'm running WinXP on a 2.8ghz Celeron with 512mb ram. GBPVR version is 97.13. My Zap2It account is good. I've also gotten a popup with the same error message and a note that my EPG may not be correctly configured. I'm trying to delete/recreate my EPG source to see if that will help.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Marc

Well, that worked, eventually. I deleted my old capture source and recreated it, attempted to update the EPG, got the same error. Rebooted the machine, went back into config and BOTH capture sources were now present. I deleted the old one, then ran update on the new one, it did a FULL update, and everyone was happy.

Any ideas what caused this?

If it happens again in future, zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

Do an 'update epg' from the config app, then zip and attach your config.exe.log and I'll take a look.

I restarted my machine (after the reinstall) and it seems to work now.

Lets see if I can get the file to attach properly this time
