The ATSC part should work, but you'll probably have to add a new definition to bda.ini with the appropriate names for this device. If you search for 'bda.ini graphedit' you should find some details on doing this. If not, let me know and I'll try to help.

Thanks guys. I don't have one of these... I just read about them at the Hauppauge website and was just wondering if GBPVR would work using one.

I just picked up a WinTV HVR-950. I'm working on getting it running right now. I added the following to my bda.ini file and it seems to be tuning. I'll will know more soon.

[Hauppauge HVR-950]
TUNING_TYPE=ATSC
FILTER_TUNER="WinTV HVR-980 BDA Tuner"
FILTER_CAPTURE="WinTV HVR-980 BDA Captuer"
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

Cheers, I'll be interested to hear how you get on.

Its worth applying the atsc-scan5.zip patches from this thread: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=19718

yeah I'm wondering too. I got as far as having version 0.98.13 recognize it as a device, but can't get it to enable the analog channels...has a column there for "Tuning Request", but I'm new and dumb so have no idea what to put in there.
The hauppauge wintv2000 software sucks bigtime!

I'd start with getting the digital side going, since this should work. The analog side might also work, but I'd look at this after you get the digital side working.

Setup a capture source, configured to use the 'BDA Recording Source'. When you tick the 'only show devices detected in this machine, does it find a device? If not, then we'll need to add a section to bda.ini.

If it did detect the device, then we need to click the 'map digital channels to epg channels' button to force it to do a channel scan.

sub, I followed your instructions and it found the device.
This is in my bda.ini:

[Hauppauge HVR-950]
TUNING_TYPE=ATSC
FILTER_TUNER="WinTV HVR-980 BDA Tuner"
FILTER_CAPTURE="WinTV HVR-980 BDA Captuer"
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

I click the 'map digital channels' and it does a scan, but finds no channels. Not sure if there's even an HD source in my city (Calgary, Canada). I run an EPG update (zap2it plugin), but then I launch gbpvr and it tells me that no channels have been set up.
