Basically we just need to make sure we've got the exact names listed in bda.ini. At the moment I'm sure we've got something just slightly off.

Hi Sub, Found an entry for 'WinFast Digital Tuner (Dev1 Path0) ' (with a space immediately after the text entry) under Value Name: VideoDevice[0].

Added a space immediately after the following line in bda.ini but the capture device is not found. Getting somewhere I guess but not quite there so to speak.

FILTER_TUNER=WinFast Digital Tuner (Dev1 Path0)

Not sure if the space is recognised in a bda.ini entry. Thought that I'd better ask.

There's also an entry for 'WinFast Digital Capture (Dev1 Path0) ' (with a space immediately after the text entry) under Value Name: FriendlyName.

Added a space after this entry in bda.ini as well however capture device is not found.

Best Regards.

I'm not sure if the ini files retain the trailing space or not (never had to do it myself). Now that you've got the space in place, zip and attach the logs again for the 'map digital channels to epg channels', and I'll see if its getting any further. It might be failing on the next filter now.

Its still failing to find that filter. I dont know if it'd work, but you could try putting quotes around the value in bda.ini. If it doesnt, you might be out of luck.

Hi Sub,

Thank you for your reply and suggestion.

I'm pleased to report that putting quotes around the value in bda.ini has worked. The capture device is now detected. A full channel scan has been carried out and the channel scan has found several DVB-T channels. Smile

The full bda.ini entry is as follows....

[WinFast DTV DIB7700]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER='WinFast Digital Tuner (Dev1 Path0) '
FILTER_CAPTURE='WinFast Digital Capture (Dev1 Path0) '
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

Keep up the good work.
Best Regards.

Hi Sub, Unfortunately the bda.ini entry has made GB-PVR unstable. Config - not responding. Done a reboot and Config still won't exit once a channel scan has been carried out Sad.

Error message from GB-PVR application is as follows.... Error. An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.

Any idea's why this problem is occurring and how to get around to get GB-PVR up and running?.

Thank you.

It treats all the BDA devices the same and doesnt happen with other BDA devices, so I can only assume it something flakey about the drivers for this device.

You're not running vista?

Hi, Thank you for your reply. Think that you must be right. Tried several other capture devices and none of them made GB-PVR not respond. Am running Windows XP. Didn't sign-up for beta testing for Vista. Downloaded BDA drivers from the manufacturers web-site. These were the same as supplied on Cd. Guess that this DVB-T Receiver cannot be used with GB-PVR?. Shame really as this particular DVB-T Receiver works very well with the manufacturer supplied software.

Does anyone know where compatible BDA drivers can be downloaded for a Leadtek WinFast DVD Dongle?. This product has been on the market in varying versions from the best of my knowledge. There's a bda.ini entry for this device but the details are different which at a guess means that different BDA drivers are in use (apologies if I'm mistaken here).

Thank you.

Maybe not - hard to tell really. You may find other versions of the drivers fair better, or maybe other people will have more luck with the same device (could be something in combination with your exact machine hardware and/or software etc).

When exactly do you get this error in the config app. Zip and attach the logs and I'll see if I can see any obvious cause.
