All,

Have searched forums for mention of a mechanism to display GBPVR on a linux pc client. I know the mediaMVP is a linux client (custom hardware distro), but does anyone know if you can view GBPVR recordings on a remote linux PC box, and if so whats the basic steps?

If the recordings folders on the GB-PVR box are shared, you can use vlc on the linux box to play the files over the network. You can't use the GB-PVR menu systems, though, as far as I know.

Thanks All,

I have a readyNAS NV (http://www.infrant.com) that I mainly use for SlimServer (iTunes music) and RAW Camcorder data + backups, but it does have UPnP media server, so I'll try migrating my pvr DB to that and try config the UPnP to serve the data. Failing that I'll export by NFS and use Xine.

I'll write up what I achieve for others as my interest in linux came from very light-weight distros making use of older hardware (read no fans), that I could safely configure with a few apps for my kids to use.
