Ok... I think I have a multitude of issues. First off, when I turn off the servers Windows Firewall (client is still up) and the client tells it to start Live TV, the server starts, but I get the error reading the file.

Then I started looking into the decoder stuff. Windows XP DecCheck shows that I have:
Nero Video/DVD Decoder (NeVideo.ax)
DScaler Mpeg2 Video Decoder (MpegVideo.dll) (I just downloaded this and it still doesn't work.)

These are not listed in the supported decoder's section. All the ones that ARE listed, cost money. I'm cheap/poor, how ever you want to look at it. (I'm using a single AverMedia $45 capture card.)

Any free decoders that work?

Hmm.... Nope. I used MS DecCheck to set it as Default. Went into GBPVR, and tried it configured to use Default, and then specifically with the GPL one. Get:
Error: Failur playing back file

I'm done for tonight. Here's the client's logs. See you tomorrow. Thanks.

I had a thought... that maybe the drivers for my card, and the muxer used might be unique. But the only Decoder that shows up on the server is the Nero Video/DVD Decoder (NeVideo.ax). The client has that and it didn't work... so I don't think it's a Decoder/Encoder issue. (The AverMedia 150 Plus has an on-chip encoder.)

Is there 2 way communication for GBPVR when used as Client/Server? Or just one way? (I'm thinking of the firewall situation. My router may only allow one way.)

Sorry, that still doesnt really give any useful insight. Its just basically saying it failed to play the file.

i think i see why it's not working..i also noticed this on mine..[.99.12]
12/28/2006 5:22:44 PM.889 INFO [1] playFile(Everyday Food, ~C:\Video\Everyday Food\Everyday Food_20061214_13001330.mpg)

notice the '~' before the filename? it's niside the quotes so gets passed with filename...Sad
i thought it was weird, so i looked inside the lastgraph.grf and it had the same exact thing! no wonder it can't find the file to play on the client..

or is that something you use Sub for internal usage?
i get similar errors as his...[sockets,etc]
bug?
