I like tkgafs's suggestion. My music collection is rather large and I would like the ability to not put it all in the ML2. If this idea is entertained I'd like to request that the name of the file thats skips the directory be configurable. I currently use "skip.txt" for my collection.

It is kind of already in place, not recurrsive though. I have to figure out if that is possible.

The other option you could use is to make multiple collections for stuff to show (then you can choose "hidden" stuff or normal stuff). I think this is why I figured that the noindex.txt was not used any more since it was just as easy to do with a collection - and this would be recurrsive.

For example:

D:\Music\Xmas = xmas collection
D:\Music\Normal = normal collection and default - the one that comes up when you start gppvr
D:\music\Other = Other collection - effectively your noindex.txt stuff.

I guess the advantage with the noindex.txt is that it can be part of the main collection and not show up. But an idea anyway. I'll have a look at the name of the file.

I think I don't fully understand the "collection" functionality. In order to use "collections", do I have to physically move the music files to different directories? My current layout is "..\My Music\A\ACDC\Back In Black\*.mp3" etc. Ideally I do not want to move the files.

You could. Or remove the noindex (in your case skip.txt) stuff to somewhere else.

But if it's really mixed up then no it wouldn't be feasible to use collections.
