Any chance you could check it on the new patch anyway? Its using this new method, and I want to make sure its not going to break it for anyone that had it working previously. As such, you probably want to backup that file before replacing it.

Sure. I'll give it a go.

I think I've managed to make some headway on these unknown or missing channels issue, so will hopefully have a patch available a little later this afternoon.

Please try the attached patch. It now locates some channels that previously missed in the scan of the North Amercian satellites. It may help also help the 'unknown' channels issue, but I'm not 100% sure since I've been unable to reproduce this here myself.

I suspect you'll be able to correct the unknown channels by setting <BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds>20</BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds> in config.xml (default was 10). My theory is that I'm not seeing these because when I test against these transport stream files I'm unable to control the data rate so it process much more data in that same 10 seconds. By bumping it up '20' you'll hopefully be able to pickup the couple of extra bits of data that are not being found to give the channel name.

You'll probably want to drop and recreate you capture source when you do this, since cached 'unknown' channels may cause confusion.

Let me know how you get on.

I haven't tried the patch yet. I'm going to do so now, but I previously upped my Scan Wait time to 30 and still got unknowns. I'll check back in after I rescan.

Well you are doing something right. I set the wait time to 20 and used the new psiparser and got way less unknowns. I still get unknowns but most of them are on transponders that have a ton of channels. I am going to bump it up to 30 and see if I get less unknowns.

OK I set it to 40 and get almost no unknowns. Still have a few but again most of them are on transponders that have a ton of channels. I am going to set it higher and see if I get less unknowns. Also I am finding a lot more channels than I ever have before.

I'd be interested to see a config.exe.log for a scan with this new patch applied.
