I've had running for some weeks a single Asus MyCinema P7131 Dual under Windows XP and the latest versions of GB-PVR (currently v0.99.5). This is in Sydney, Australia if it matters.

To get it working initially I had to update the BDA.INI with the details suppied earlier in this thread (thanks Lulugt6) - I think it's now part of the standard install.

Now I'm looking for assistance/suggestions as to how to get this working with two or more cards?

I add the new card (same device/firmware as the original card) as per normal and it scans OK, but further investigation seems to indicate it is using the original card for the scan. I've tried changing the Device Number without success (ie - nothing detected during scan).

If I leave it as the original device (both as Device Number 1) then when I try to watch Live TV it tells me it has no Signal Strength?

Are there any more "exotic" options in teh BDA.INI to help me configure the additional card?

So I can understand how this device's drivers do dual card, can you run filtercheck and attach the resulting filtercheck.log? http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=1...ostcount=6. With this log I should be able to recommend what you need to do to configure it.

Attached is the resultant FilterCheck.log (had to add a .txt to the end to get it uploaded).

I can see it detects three devices installed, each with the same name, so you should be able to set up three capture sources, with device numbers #1, #2 and #3.

Is this the number of devices you expected to see, or did you expect four? I seem to remember some device (maybe this one?) was confirm by the manufacturer as only supporting a maximum of three tuners.

I only expected the three devices, but when I change the Device Number to #2 (or anything other than #1) it fails to find any channels during the scan.

Zip and attach the config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log and I'll see if there is anything obvious going wrong in the logs. If not, it might be something funky happening in the drivers.

I hope that this is an easy fix for yourself.

Have you been able to confirm these three devices are all functioning in any other app? I suspect there is some driver issue that is stopping it from functioning correctly (ie, requiring Asus to fix).

I dont think it'll help, but the one thing you could try is setting <BDAAutoDetectTuner>false</BDAAutoDetectTuner> in config.xml. This will just check its not one issue that I'm aware of with multiple devices where the drivers incorrectly report the "pin medium".

I've modified the config.xml as advised (setting the BDAAutoDetectTuner to false) and have now confirmed (by selecting a subset of the stations per card and removing the antenna) that all 3 cards are working as I'd hoped.

The only other change I had to make was to set channel 8 (maps to our Channel 9 in Sydney) in the 0141.ini file to:
;3=C8,191500,0,0,7
3=C8,191625,0,0,7
Evidently Channel 9 over here is a bit miffed about all this free-to-air stuff going on (it's a shareholder in Foxtel pay TV) and so moved it's channel ever so subtely...one of the reasons I moved from PowerCinema was that I couldn't change this setting.

Many thanks for the additional assistance.

FYI

System is an IBM M41 (Pentium4 2.4GHz with 1.3GB RAM and a 250GB HDD - slightly upgraded from original) - all three cards recording shows 20% utilisation with 700MB RAM free.

Not much else is running (AVG).
