I am using AV1 for svideo and the also the test with comp. I cycled through every aspect ratio and it made no difference.

Sorry, comp=composite, being the only other output from my MVP.

I haven't yet undertaken the big job of unplugging all the wires from my computer and taking it up to connect to the computer-in port of the panel. I suspect that it won't give those lines, though, but only a test will prove it. I'll try it sometime soon.

IIRC, the MVP settings (width, height, offsets) must be divisible by 4. If you use the MVP Position plugin, it'll set it for you (or rather, you can adjust it).

I'm not sure about the Panasonic processing; as I said earlier, I have what is basically the same tv (panasonic, 42" viera plasma) and I don't see anything like that at all on any ratio.

It is frustrating as I haven't been able to get my MVP working since I changed the config.xml file. Latish last night my computer went wonky. I have a weird problem with a disk drive that I currently have disconnected. But my MVP won't now find the server! It is linked as I can ping it but it just loops looking for a server. I will persevere and post back when I have a result. I am hopeful that your suggestion will work!

LCDs and Plasmas are pretty good at letting you tweak overscan, so it might be worth setting:

There is the off-chance the black borders around the picture were confusing the panel's auto aspect ratio functionality, causing it to do something like this odd visual appearance you're getting.

As requested, on my Panasonic these are the MVP settings I arrived at after much fannying about. You might want to try these as well as sub's.

I'm still here but am immensely frustrated that I can't get these settings tested. As mentioned earlier, I have had a peculiar hard disk problem and now I seem to have a working system again, albeit without a disk connected, but my MVP just can't get a server connection. It keeps cycling thru the 10 little squares then refreshes the screen and starts over again ad infinitum. I can ping the MVP and I can see it with an established connection to my machine and there is a recording service running but still no connection. I have tried three dongles and numerous power offs etc but no go.

Just been looking at some logs and find the attached one relevant. Would you be kind enough to eyeball it for me please, sub? It sees the mvp (correct mac addr) but it seems as if my machine is closing the action. TIA.

Did a repair re-install and still no server connection.

In that log it does connection from the MVP, but it drops the connection pretty much immediately. There is no clues why.

Can make sure you're using the dongle that comes with GB-PVR, then remove the power and reapply (forcing it to reload dongle), then wait a bit then zip and attach the the gbpvr.exe.log? It gives a bit more useful info if the logs show the dongle being loaded etc.
