gbpvr crashes onload, config utility bombs out with a .net error unhandled exception.

this is a fresh install of windows xp home, with dotnet framework and gbvr installed along with tv card software and updates from microsoft error contents below.

after the exception the utility form loads, but no values are in any of the form controls, list boxes etc.

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Do you get a message in the Windows Event Viewer when this occurs?

No, I dont have one. I'm guessing its not a GB-PVR file though, but rather a DLL its expecting to use not being found.
