Bugger! I just typed a nice load of text and then pressed backspace so it's all gone!

Anyway, here's the abridged version. Product's great. I'm having a ball learning it.

I'm using a freeview hauppauge card off of crystal palace, England, london transmitter. Got all the channels dvb epg's working a treat.

A few Q's.

1: I understand the terrestrial dvb stream in native mpg. How can I record directly in this and not have that dvr-ms thang?

2: I've played with the transpose (both in videos and recordings) just with xvid so far but the aspect ration wasn't preserved. What am I doing wrong?

I've got an old Kazaa Lite Mega Codec Pack, can you point me in the right direction for a more up to date version. The MS Codec thang said I might be out of date with some bits.

Finally! What's the best format to use for transposing or is it just a case of suck it and see?

Thanks a lot folks!

.mpg files and .dvr-ms are both file container formats for MPEG2 content. If you want to record .mpg files, you need to have either the Cyberlink mux or ATI mux installed and selected in the misc tab of the config app.

Thanks for that I'll have a look when I get home from work. I understand if I've not got the Cyberlink one I can just download the trial version to see if it works is that right?

Cheers.

You might be able to download a trial of PowerVCR or somtheing. I think includes the Cyberlink mux.

Is there anyway to record into xvid or divx directly?

I dont think so - but you can set gbpvr to automatically transcode your recordings (although I cant remember if this includes the formats you mentioned....)

Yeah it does and I've already tried transposing into divx but the aspect ratio was off. I expect it just users the drivers so I'll have to have a look into my divx settings to correct that?

Thanks for all the help yesterday. Everything's working hunky dorey now. I'm even thinking about upgrading my hard drive, buying a dual tuner (any clues for a USB2 DVB one folks?) and setting up the mvp/ tv sender bits!!!

Here's another one. I'm on DVB-T (Hauppauge HVR 900 USB 2) UK Freeview, Crystal Palace, London. I've got the DVB EPG to update but I've got a few questions:

1: They don't seem to be in order. I notice I can change the channel thang in config but wondered if any other Brits has a tool to do it? ;o)

2: Also, I saw some screenshots and people have got icons for the channels. Mine's just text right now. How do I make them turn to channels?

3: My DVB EPG is working but I notice a few of the channels aren't complete and Channel Five stops at midnight on Sunday. Any ideas?

4: Finally! Do I have to do a Complete/Full EPG update or does it just fill in the gaps?

Cheers!
