It sure is strange. Panasonic say it is a one-off. No other GBPVR user has it! So that clears Panasonic and GBPVR. Hauppauge will say it is not the MVP as it works with their software and with GBPVR for all but me. Narrows down the field!! In fact, there is nothing else leftSmile

The scope will only see it if it is at the MVP output. Would be interesting putting a scope on it, though. My old scope probably has too low a bandwidth.

Made a black and white jpg. The white one shows the lines badly but, interestingly, there are no lines evident on the black one. All the pixels look even. Not really new info as it was always so that the lines showed up worse on light backgrounds. But perhaps it is important to know that there are NO bum lines on a black image??

I will put the scope on tomorrow morning.

Yeah, in retrospect, the black image thing isn't that predictiveSmile

I did put the scope on the signal last night but I couldn't get anywhere with it. A good scope may do the trick, especially if you know what to look for!

Interesting, but I can't reproduce it, either, except by using GBPVR via the MVP.

How did you connect to the TV?

Any chance you could try the attached patch? It uses the same YUV conversion algorithm as Hauppauge. Hopefully it'll help.

It has done MUCH better than just help. Sub, you and Hauppauge are wonderful. The problem lines are no longer there. Not a sign! Not even a skerrick! What a difference a new algorithm can make!

I guess you know by now I am very happy and gratefulSmile I suppose this patch will get a permanent place in GBPVR from now on. Still strange that no one else has reported a problem. Will we ever know why?

I would also like to thank you other GBPVRers who kept trying to help and kept my hopes up, especially mvandere who went beyond the call of duty as it were. This has to be one of the neatest forums one could hope to belong to.

I go to bed a happy man. Again, thanks sub.

You're welcome. Yes, it'll be a permanent part of the release.

There was a very slight difference in the way the colour was converted for every second column of the screen. On most people's TVs this difference wasnt visible (as has probably been your experience since owning an MVP). Unfortunately something about your new TV's analog -> digital video decoder was highlighting this difference, making it obvious on the panel. Other people's TVs have not been highlighting this difference. Not sure why the big difference, but it was worth making the change as it may help others also (which may be suffering from the same problem to a lesser degree)
