I cannot playback recordings/see liveTV, the screen just blink once or the mvp restart.

Here is the error message in the log:
23/1/2007 23:12:54.562 ERROR [11] Unable to find node: /settings/SpecialElements/SpecialElement[@name="ForegroundTransparency"]

Can you please help?

Thanks so much

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

You can ignore that.

I cant see an attempt to play that file. I suspect you'd need to post the GBPVR.exe-1.log after the crash occurs (since the MVP software would have restarted and the logs rolled over).

Sub,

I am in fact running GBPVR fine on the machine directly and have also run it fine on a client PC. It sparks me to buy a MVP and I believe I am just very close to be OK.

This time I tried to play the recorded program "Child of Our time". The MVP blinked twice and nothing happened.

I have attached the log (log.zip attached)

I notice that I have this
Code:
24/1/2007 21:48:53.890    VERBOSE    [11]    MVP async queue handling key: 20
24/1/2007 21:49:13.890    VERBOSE    [9]    MVP data taking too long, connection must have been dropped!

Does it relate to network latency and is there any tweak in config.xml that I can tune to allow extra time for the MVP to respond?

Sorry, I'm not really sure. I cnat see an obvious cause in the logs.

It wont relate to network latency. Its just saying it hasnt heard from the MVP in the last 20 seconds or so. After 8 seconds of not talking to GB-PVR the MVP disconnects. This 8 second value is hard coded in the MVP and not a setting GB-PVR can change.

I had the exact same problem.

After a while, I realized that I had forgotten to disable my Windows XP firewall. After doing so, everything worked perfectly!

Cheers,

My MVP is now working fine. What I did was to use a different dongle. I found that the beta dongle v24333 from Hauppauge website works for me for some unknown reason.

Thanks Sub!

P.S. I am now have the Chinese folder/file names problem and see if there is anything that can be done. I do not want to get around by using English file/folder names as those are really meaningless translation to the Chinese names.
