Something is wrong. Under HIP Preferences, Alternate input, you should not have the extra 3...

Have a look at my data files... Open them up in notepad

In this, you might be confused by the double entries.. Actually that's cause I have two tuners, and I need a way to differentiate. For your purposes, ignore all of the entries that end with 2...

Here's the same screen scrolled down...

Even though you may not want to be as fancy as two tuners, this command line will be a good starting point for you

Thanks for the help, Frank

Ok, looking at your screen shots it looks like im heading in the right direction. I have deleted that second #3 setting, but that didn't fix my problem. I haven't inputed the RUN,OK, BACK, or volume commands yet. I only have 0 - 9. I'm gonna look at your data files now in txt format.

ok, now i reinstalled HIP and redid all of the inputting of codes and still the same thing. My remote wont change the STB. I did notice however that when the OSD changes on the screen that there's a slight pause in the video.

are you sure that you've placed the ir blaster in the correct place on your stb?

the placement of mine was a proper headache to get spot-on. apparently the signal strength of the MCE blaster is very short os if you dont get it bang-on its not that good, which is definalty what i found. the way i tuned/tested my positioning of the blaster was to teach HIP the code for the STBs mute function, then set this going in a repetitive cycle in HIP so the blaster was blinking every second or so, and just sat with the blaster for ages inching it around the face of the STB until i found a sweet spot that gave me 100% received signals.

also, is there anything in your enviroment that could be knocking the signal out? although ive not suffered from this myself i have read that LCD screens emit some sort of field which interferes with IR blasters if they are too close.

dont quote me though...im at the end of a nightshift and things are all a bit wonky in my head...

yeah, they are in the right place. im %100 certain.

What i have failed to mention earlier was that I have (2) 150 tuner cards but I only had one hooked up to my STB via Svideo. My other COAX connection was disconnected. Now, since now im hooked up via Svideo and Coax I can change channels. However, there's still an issue with changing the channels. I'm going to bed now so ill post back hopefully tomorrow if i have time to tinker.
Once question though before I go, since i have a dual tuner PVR on my remote control configuration under gbpvr, should both tuners be setup for .exe channel changer config?

After learning the codes and setting up the codes to send on the Alternate Input tab have you actually tried using hipsend.exe or hipwsend.exe from the command line to see if you can change the channels.

For some reason I also had the devil of a time getting this working right but once I got everything configured properly it works great.

One problem that I had was that my TV evidently at times emits a lot of stray IR, particularly when there are bright white windows open. For instance if I open a blank notepad window the beanbag will start flashing furiously as it detects all the stray IR. It made learning the codes a real pain but once I got all the codes captured it has not been a problem.

I am only using HIP with hipsend to send codes to the STB and not for control of the GBPVR. After learning the codes from the remote I switched back to the default XP driver for the MCE transceiver and am controlling GBPVR that way.

For sending I have thought about trying to use the Myblaster.exe created for the mediaportal project
http://www.team-mediaportal.com/files/Do...MyBlaster/
since using it would not require HIP to be running and would theoretically free up a few system resources. The only reason I haven't pursued that a bit more vigorously is that my current configuration is working so well.
