Remote Oddity

Hey everyone, I'm trying to get my remote to work properly with GB-PVR, but whenever I hit the rewind button it opens up another program I have where the shortcut is Ctrl-Shift-D I try closing the program but then the rewind button just doesn't do anything at all. When I look in the remote ini file it says for GB-PVR Rewind is mapped to Ctrl-D So I'm wondering where is the shift coming from? I use a Hauppauge 45 button silver remote and have tried the "fix the hauppauge remote" thing but it doesn't help.

I seem to remember the Hauppauge IR Software sets the keyboard modifiers when it fakes key stokes.

Can you change the shortcut in the other app? if not then you'll probably have the more difficult prospect of trying to ask Hauppauge about it. Sorry...

Well I can just close the App, but like I say it doesn't do anything in GBPVR.

Anyone know of a way I can use a universal remote with my Hauppauge IR reciever?

I mean I'll buy a new remote if I have to, it's not a big deal but if I don't have to I don't want to.

No, unless your universal remote happens to have codes to emulate a Hauppauge remote. I think it was the Hauppauge software at fault though, not your remote.

If you press Ctrl-D on the keyboard, does it work?

If you remove the mapping of the other app (remove shortcut as sub said), does it stil do it?

Ctrl-D works fine

Removing the other app stops it from opening but then nothing happens in GBPVR when I push the Rewind button.

I can change the mapping of other buttons in the irremote.ini file, like I changed the red button from its default and that worked fine.

All the other buttons work well, just this one is being a pain. I think it is the Hauppauge software, it sucks but I can live with it I'll just press the back button instead of the rewind button.

You can change some of the keys used in C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\KeyMappings
