The HDHomeRun Manager is a new tray app with the latest software release. It allows you to register HDHomeRun Devices (each tuner) to the BDA Driver. If you want to use both tuners in a device, both must be installed using this app.
Once you use it to install the device/tuners to the BDA Driver, you don't need it running anymore. Just for future reference...

Could someone post installation directions, step by step?
I am losing my patience trying to find a solution to my malfunctioning system.

I'll put together some step by step instructions getting GBPVR and the HDHomeRun working from scratch... I need a some time...

First Part (install the drivers):
1) Install the latest HDHomeRun software and firmware: http://www.silicondust.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2484 Use HDHomeRun Config (GUI) from the Start Menu to upgrade your HDHomeRun to the latest firmware. Vista note: Put the MSI file on your desktop, open an admin shell and run the following command (adjust the filename accordingly): Code: msiexec /i "%USERPROFILE%\desktop\hdhomerun_win32_20070211beta5.msi" 2) Install the BDA drivers: Run HDHomeRun Manager from the Start Menu. It will show the HDHomeRun icon in the notification area - double click to open and then click "Install All" to install BDA drivers. If the "Install All" button is grayed out then all HDHomeRun tuners found on the network have already been installed. Right click each tuner listed to make sure they are installed. Second part (configure GB-PVR): 1. Download the attached zip and extract the bda.ini to your GB-PVR directory OR add the following lines to your bda.ini in your GB-PVR directory. (the default is âC:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvrâ): Code: [Silicondust HDHomeRun Tuner XXXXXXXX-0] Edit the bda.ini and replace "XXXXXXXX" with the 8-digit device ID from the back of the HDHomeRun. 2. Start the GB-PVR Config and click the "Capture Sources" tab. 3. Add a Capture Source. 4. Select "BDA Recording Source" and click the âSettingsâ button for the recording source. 5. Select âSilicondust HDHomeRun Tuner XXXXXXXX-0â from the Device Type dropdown list and click the âOKâ button. 6. Select and configure the EPG of your choice. 7. Click the âUpdate EPGâ button. 8. Click the âOKâ button on the message box that pops up asking you to save the capture source. 9. Once the EPG is updated click the âMap digital channels to EPG channelsâ button. 10. Once the scan is complete, click the âTuning Requestâ column for each channel you wish to map and select the appropriate scan result from the dropdown list. Disable any channels in the EPG that do not have a corresponding âTuning Requestâ. Hint: You can click on an entry below the preview window to watch that channel to help you identify it. 11. When all channels are mapped, click the âOKâ button. 12. Repeat steps 3-11 but select âSilicondust HDHomeRun Tuner XXXXXXXX-1â for step 5. 13. Click âOKâ to exit the Recording Source Configuration and again to exit GB-PVR Config. 14. Start GB-PVR.

I posted in HDHOMERUN forums but this may be a better place place to resolve
my issue. I've gone through the setup in GBPVR Config several times, but it seems channel scanning only picks up the one channel that is tuned to in the HDHOMERUN CONFIG(gui). If I scan to a different channel in HDHR then the GBPVR will only scan that channel over and over. I'm using the latest drivers and firmware for HDHR and VLC works. Both tuners are installed and recieving a signal. If I go to the GBPVR TV Guide all my correct channel listings are there but all are the same channel that was scanned. Thanks |
