Could you elaborate on the difference between the full version and the short version?

Sorry for not being clear. If you have a look at the logs in the attachment further up the thread, what I mean is different frames are being identified in the file Miami Vice_20061106_18001900.txt (the short version) and Miami Vice_20061106_18001900.log (the long version). They don't seem to be the same.

They are indeed not the same and I do not understand at all how this can happen
Can you delete the .log, and .txt files and run comskip again?

Sure, see attached. Same thing again if you compare the .txt and the .log. Anything to do with the references near the top of the file to the audio being out of sync do you think?

This is VERY weird. When I run comskip on your .csv file it generates the same result in the .txt and the .log file.
Could you run comskip on the .csv file (drag and drop the .csv file onto comskip.exe) and post the generated .log and .txt?
And, if possible, could you set output_timing=1 in the comskip.ini and mail me the zipped .timing.csv file?
And (maybe I am asking too much) could you also try build 71?

Sorry for the delay, my computer died and I'm only just back up and running now. I've emailed you the csv and other files both running the csv and running the original mgeg, using build 72. Couldn't see output_timing in the ini so manually added it - is that what I was meant to do?

Looks like this version has fixed the anomally though - both the short version and the long version now agree!

Good to hear!
No need to keep the output_timing in the ini file as it slows down the processing.

Erik,

Just sent you an email as getting some odd results on the latest comskip v79.98. Still had the old recording we have been running the tests on earlier in this thread so used that for comparison.

Pete - comskip generally works pretty well on the UK freeview channels which carry logos. See earlier in the thread for discussion on a program I was having which Erik fixed.

Here's a revival of this thread, as I've been getting just the four basic analogue channels where I live, but we're about to get a dish installed for Freesat (UK). I envisage a LOT of work for Comskip stripping out commercials and logos for about a million channels (most of which I probably shan't watch anywaySmile).

So it would be helpful if someone here had a working comskip.ini as a starting point - no point re-inventing the wheel and all that...

Many thanks.
