So I started toying with some settings again, and I noticed that when I selected something other than VMR9, a message pops up shortly after starting a Live TV feed that says something like "signal not found! Please ensure that signal quality is high", along with two bars indicating quality and strength. Both bars are high (> 80%), and the audio plays flawlessly.
The 'signal not found' message is shown if no video data is delivered to GB-PVR. I dont really gave a good reason for why the video data is not being delivered though. No signal is the most common reason, but the audio being present doesnt tally up with that.
It might be worth dropping and recreating your capture source (and doing the 'map digital channels to epg channels' step etc), since a rescan might correct any incorrect video PIDs stored, which is one possible reason.
So I went to recreate the capture source, and it said that no valid capture devices were detected in my system. So I re-installed the drivers for my card, and now I get crystal clear video (even on the poor-reception HD channels), but no audio.
I will figure this out, though. Thanks for the help!
Ehhh... I actually only get video reception, and only on that one channel. So I'm gonna rescan, see if that helps.
Alright, well, rescanning didn't seem to make a difference.
My current status is that it's the same as it was before I re-instaled the drivers for my card, except now I don't get audio at all. One channel (it's just a weather service) has crystal clear video, but no audio. I haven't tried ALL of the channels I've got, but I've tried 4 or 5 other ones and none of them work at all. The same "signal not found" error. The thing is, though, that it found all of these channels again just fine when I did a rescan.
I'll give it a shot. Turns out GPL decoder just sucks, and the cyber-whatever one works as long as I choose overlay or custom vmr9. I'm thinking my video card just can't keep up with the audio, though, because I can't get them to sync no matter what I do.
