That's wierd. Do they block media stream URLs at your office, perhaps? Or simply block the site? If so, you may not be able to access it from work at all. But just in case you can, the site I'm using is this one.

That's great news! The MVP playback infrastructure is something I've been working on for some time (mainly intended for the next release of UbuStream) and its been a bit "challenging", to say the least. I've had some feedback from UbuRadio users who experienced minor problems with it, but you're the first one to give it the thumbs up. You made my day! Smile

"Big Thumbs up" from me for the MVP (I'm one of those horrible UbuRadio radio users :-) ), (still tweaking for the PC).

I've just uploaded UbuRadio v1.1 to the wiki. In addition to some minor bug fixes, I have added a few new features:
  • Prev Menu button on "play" menus (for people who can't figure out where the Back button is on their remote Smile ).
  • Snapshot button (copies everything recorded so far into a permanent MP3 file, when using Timeshift play). Simple stream recording. Handy for when you hear a song you really like and want to keep it.
  • Hide player in Preview mode option in config window. Hides the player (and the visualizations) so you can continue using the GB-PVR menus.
  • Dual wait time settings (MVP and standard) in config window. Useful if you run a standard GB-PVR instance and an MVP server concurrently and use UbuRadio with both.
  • Various bug fixes (mainly to do with navigation keys giving focus to the wrong UI element and improved error handling).
Community skin: Minor changes to the Blue skin. I've included the v1.0 version of the Community skin as a placemarker. If somebody can let me know when the v1.1 is ready, I'll replace the version in the zip.

Thanks for the URL to mike's, although unavailable at the moment. There was one "bug". If I hit web page on the MVP, it does open on the gbpvr server, but obviously not on the MVP. I didn't know what that button did, and then I looked at the server and noticed all these open pages. Not a big deal, I just don't hit it when I'm using the MVP.

Will try the new update this weekend.

In the updated version (v1.1), the "Web Site" button is suppressed (not displayed) when you're using your MVP since the feature (as you've noticed Smile ) does not work with an MVP. The button invokes a simple "mini-browser" I wrote to support this feature and to get this to display on the MVP would require a significant coding effort on my part. Not high on my to-do list I'm afraid.

yes, don't worry about browsing through MVP.

maybe would be nice to record radio to an mp3 for later playback, using mvp as front end of scheduler. vlc has ability to transcode to mp3. to my knowledge, nobody has tackled a gbpvr-like front-end with scheduled recordings for internet audio.

Streams requiring Flash Player are not supported. Sorry.

Have you tried the Snapshot button I added for the UbuRadio v1.1 release? It copies everything you've played so far on the current station to an mp3 file so you can play it back later via Music Library. Obviously, this only works for Timeshift Play but, for the same reason, it should work from your MVP.

BTW - UbuRadio is already using VLC to transcode the stream to mp3. That's what Timeshift Play is. That's how come you can listen to stations with your MVP.

The "soon to be released" UbuStream v.2.1 will also have a Record button that will allow you record a station to mp3 for a specified duration. For scheduled recordings, if you include a station in your EPG for Channel mode playback, you will also be able to use the GB-PVR recordings scheduler (from TV Guide or by using Manual Recording) to set up recordings for it. For audio stations this won't create an mp3 but an mpeg with no video (mp2 audio) which will show up in GB-PVR Recordings.

I might consider writing an audio-specific recording scheduler for UbuRadio at some time in the future but it seems crazy to duplicate so much of what sub has already created for MPEG video. Maybe he might be persuaded to expose some of the "hooks" to the GB-PVR recording service so I could use it directly for mp3 recording.

Hi,
I couldn't manage to get any stations to actually play through this plugin. When I hit the play button it the screen turned blank and a cartoon showed up. But no audio. I also tried the transcode option as well with no success. I dont have Real Player installed, but I have real alternative installed. But I didnt actually try to play any stations that required real player anyway. I have every other prereq installed.
