Hi, just bought a tuner last week, I got this program working with the card and it is amazing. I would like to use a remote control with it. It came with a really good remote control, and it works with the program they provided but not with GB PVR. Am I safe to assume that GB PVR doesn't support it, it's a Phillips SAA7130 TV Card.

(I found a link, http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?InvtId=...&cpc=RECOM)

Now, if my remote doesn't work with it, how do I buy a remote for this program. What kind, and does it come with some sort of reciver, and are these remotes standards remotes that can be used across the system?

If you can't find some info on how to get the philips remote to work, the MCE 2005 remote is supported by gbpvr and is used by a lot of people.

That said, if you *really, really* want to use your philips remote, you could get an usb-uirt (but it's quite expensive), which is supported by gbpvr. Then you can teach it your philips remote, and you're all set.

You can also look at Girder (costs money) and HIP (is free). I don't know much about them, but they are used for translating ir commands into keystrokes (which gbpvr ultimately expects from any remote)... you might get one of them to work with your remote?

Thanks for the reply. What type of thing would I type into Google to find this, it didn't say anything in the manual. (It is a low end $20 CAD) card. I am not sure what I would be looking for.

Does a MCE 2005 remote come with a reciver? and do you know how much about, I'm looking on Froogle and see they are all bundled with cards.

Ok, stefan, I'll check out Girder and HIP. If I can get it to work, which IR do I set it to in GBPVR's settings?
