I am running v0995 on both the client and server. Playback of both live TV and recording are great on the server machine. I have everything working on a client machine but the video is very jittery to where it is un-watchable. I am setup to use streaming mode but I get the same results from file sharing mode too. If I just connect to the server and play the mpg file it looks great. I have tried every one of the DBA Mux's with the same results. Attached are my log files, can you take a look and point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance for the assistance.

Have you tried other audio and video decoders on the client?

I have tried with all 3 Video Decoders on my machine :
System Default
InterVideo Decoder
Nero Video Decoder

I got it working consistantly without jitter by using either VMR7 or Overlay manager. But any time I change the channel it locks up GBPVR. If I use VMR9 I get a clear picture but it has the jitters and does not lockup the application?

Is there a different Video Decoder you would reccomend? What about the DBA multiplexer, I am using Cyberlink.

I wrote a small app that allows you to use the power button the the 45 button remote to turn ON/Off GBPVR, it looks at the state of the app and does the opposite (turn off if it's on and turn on if its off) do you think anyone would want me to post it? I know the mod for irremote.ini only turns it on of brings it back to focus.

The graphics controller in the Client machine is :

VIA/S3G onboard with 64mb
Chip Type : S3G 3259

If I take the HVR-1600 out of my Server and put it in my Client machine it works flawlessly. I am running it on a wired LAN at 100mbps, the machines are about 75 feet apart.

No, not really. Most poeple seem to use the Cyberlink or nvidia one. For free, the MPV decoder or gplmpgdec are also ok.

Thats BDA not DBA. Since you've got an ATSC device, its probably easiest just to use the Microsoft DVR-MS mux.

Thanks for all the help with my "Jitter" problem. Can anyone answer the client/server instablilty question? I have 5 computers in my home and I have installed GBPVR on all of them, placed the HVR-1600 in each and the application works as expected ( I do think the HVR-1600's tuner is not quite as good as the old PVR-150 ). But I can not get a stable combination of Client/server's in each case it does play the recorded shows and will do live TV, but if I change the channel the application locks up. On one machine it even reboots it. But the lock-up is pretty consistant, which leads me to believe that it is something I am doing in the setup if others have it working in a stable manner. I did upgrade the server to use SQL Lite.

The client machine I am really testing on is the one listed above. Thanks again in advance.

OK first I want to thank Sub and tipstir for taking the time to respond to my post, I know how busy you guys must be so thanks.

After looking through the WIKI and all the threads I could find on this topic, I went back over all my settings again. When I ran the "BDA Mux Checker" in the gbpvr program folder I found that there were NONE present on the server machine. I feel lucky that playback was even working on the client using the Microsoft DVR-MS mux at the server given others experiences. So I found the .ax files from one of my client machines, copied it to the server then registered the CyberLink Mux (which came with Power Producer Gold) and selected CyberLink as the "BDA Multiplexor" on the Misc tab on both the Client and Server PC's. For other please check here http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/FAQ/Codec now I have good playback on the client with no jitter and it is somewhat stable.

I can change channels 5-10 times before it locks up. I am pretty happy with that, given the multitude of posts here concerning the same topic I think that as more people use the Client/Server mode and more issues come up that can be clearly isolated and fixed it will become as solid as the other features in GBPVR. What specifically that is happening for me is after 5-10 channel changes, the client stops responding for 2-5 minutes so I hit escape. Sometimes the application will return to the main menu and sometimes it just sits on the frozen screen forever until I kill the GBPVR.EXE process. On the server machine the Icon in the system tray is green and if I look at the live recording buffer directory the new channel file shows up and is being populated as the file size keeps growing. It almost looks to me like the channel change was sent to the server and the server responded by kicking off the timeshift file, but the client somehow lost the connection and is now out of sync and can not recover. If it does recover the Menu screen will come back, the file on the server will stop growing in size and you can continue by selecting another channel. If it does not recover I have to kill the process on the server, then stop/start the recording service on the Server and start all over again.
