Hi all.
I have been a passive user of the forums for quite a while now, and since I haven't seen that many performance related threads I thought I might post information about my own system for those interested. When I build my system I wasn't really able to find much information on how much horsepower to throw into a bigger system, so I hope this post can be of help to someone out there.
My system:
AMD X2 3800+
1 GB RAM
2xPVR 500
2x320 GB disks in RAID 0.
3 MVP's.
When I run 4 simultanous recordings, each with comskip running on the fly, and have 3 seperate files streaming to the MVP's my server utilizes ~30% cpu time and consumes just under 900 MB of RAM.
Even when browsing the OSD on all 3 MVP's at once, the response time is pretty much unaffected. I am truly impressed by this piece of software. Excellent job sub!
