The error 'Debug assertion failed' is fairly generic. It just means it failed to start the recording, so your problem is unrelated to the posts above (about using a PVR150 with a PVR250 in the same machine).

Gerald, you can zip and email your log files from c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr to me at support@devnz.com. I dont personally have a leadtek pvr2000 card, so I'm not really familiar with any issues associated with it, but the logs may contain some clues.

I'm getting the same error and looking at the log files helps. Does anyone know where the "Temporary live TV filename:" value is stored?

Thanks!

Huh? The filename is dynamically constructed from the show you're viewing. Zip and email your log files from c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr to me at support@devnz.com

Howdy Sub and all. I just bought this same Leadtek pvr2000 as well and having the exact same issue. I was about to lose my mind getting new drivers, and troubleshooting. I will be following this topic in the meantime. Please post a result if one is found. [Image: smile.gif] thanks

I can't say that I am glad to see I am not the only one that has this problem, but I can hope that someone has found out how to fix it by now.

I was not happy with problems that I was having with MS Media Center that came installed on my HP and decided to try GB-PVR.  I made a few guesses when configuring GB-PVR and must have guessed right.  It installed and works flawlessly.

I have been lurking on this forum for a couple of weeks and felt comfortable in being able to dedicate a pc to build a pvr.  I wanted to replace the 3 vcrs I have been using with a single machine.  I ordered 3 WinTV-PVR-150MCEs and a MediaMVP.

I tried to install all 3 capture cards in the pc and ran into problems.  The system recognized all three but would only install drivers for 2 of them.  When it tried to install the third, it would always hang the os and I had to reboot.

I removed 1 of the PVR-150MCEs and the other two installed without problem.  I was able to install GB-PVR and connect to Zap2it to load the TV Guide.  Everything looks just as my HP installation with one major exception.  When I tried to go to Live TV, I got the "Debug Assertion Failed!" message.

The dialog box says the the error is in dbgdel.cpp at line 52 and to see the Visual C++ documentation on asserts.
I removed one of the remaining cards so that there was only one PVR-150MCE in the machine in case there was a conflict between the 2 cards.  The result was the same.

I have a Pentium 4 1.82Gh with 512 MB RAM.  Obviously I am not the only one to have this problem. Has anyone figured out what causes this error.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

I created another topic for this same error, but it looks like it's covered here pretty well. For me, I'm unable to view live TV. That's when I get the error, I haven't even got to recording yet. What would the log file be called for live TV?

Send all the log files from c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr. Also send a description of your setup.

Althought I, too, have the MCE version of this card, I went to http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/support/s...vr150.html and reloaded all the drivers and applications (even if I wasn't going to use them). After a reboot, this problem cleared up.

I had issues getting my white box PVR150MCE to work. I messed around for an hour with drivers and I think it all started working after I applied the WinTV 2000 application update. I verified by running the removal tool on the CD and scrubbing everything, then installing the driver and then this:

My new install is working. It appears I may have failed to load .Net correctly before installing my ATI Control panel. ATI requires this; so does GBPVR. This must have corrupted things. This time, I did not get the assertion/debug C++ warning.
