My MVP had both and I switched to S-Video and all my fuzzy screens went away. Also I compress my DIVX to half the size of my mpeg recording example MPEG for a High recording 2 hours movie are 3.86 gig and I convert it to 1.99 gigs, done a lot of testing to get the balance of compression and video quality "trial and error is all I can say"
. I have a PVR 150 and PVR 500 in my system and I have to say that the PVR 500 does a better job recording then the PVR 150 with a good splitter 1Ghz not the cheap 900Mhz one. Hope this helps..
