Hey!

I was wondering how I can force the use of one of my capture sources.....I'm playing for the first time with two in my machine and I would like to test one to make sure it is working...How do I select which one to use at a given time?

The only way I can think of (haven't tested but will after I'm done posting this) is to record on one and then try to watch TV again and see if it lets me select the other.....Is this the only way?

thanks sub...I think the other trick (for me at least) is that the channels can be testing in the mapping section...I think...hehehe....dvb is VERY different...whole new learning curve! Smile

where does one find the LNB settings of their dish?

According to my STB I have LNB 11250...But that is it...GB asks for three pieces of info:

LNB LOF1 which I set to 11250-
LNB Switch which I set to 0 since I don't have a swtich...I have a single LNB.
LNB LOF2 which is also set to 11250

When I scan it sees a bunch of channels, but when I test it says

Quality ----------------------> (green across the bar)
Strength (nothing)

I also have Powered Checked and Disqec None (as I don't have one)

If I connect the dish to my STB I get great strength and signal...So I know its just my settings....

Any hints for me?

also of note when I scan I get a strength of negative values (-3599 as an example) while quality sits at 100 when it hits a channel....

I'm wondering if I'm selecting the right bird too...I have chosen Nimiq 1 for Bell ExpressVu in Canada. Hope that is it cause I thought it was called Nimiq 1,3...

I'm always really bad at answering these questions. There is tons of different types of LNB out there, but I've only used the one type I've got. There is always an appropriate set of three values, but I couldnt tell you what they might be.

This isnt about diseqc switches, but rather the frequency at which it changes from the low to high band.

It can be normal to see the quality or strength meter reporting funny values. Unfortunately all the BDA drivers seem to implement a different range of values, and no mechanism to query what those ranges may be, so apps tend to have to have prior knowledge of the values returned by each card. These graphs show the correct values for the cards I have, but might not for other devices.

If the channels found during the scan, but attempts to view it show a decent signal (which yours might be) and no picture, then the channel may be encrypted, requiring multidec plugins etc to be configured.

See my comments above about funny unknown value ranges...

I cant answer that one. I'm on the other side of the planet, so not that familiar with the sats used over there.
