still think its silly, but if sub adds the methods i need to create a video playlist thingy, something like  addvideotoqueue().  ill add the play X number of random videos from "this" folder, so if only want the dolby thingy set that to one, and it will just play that, make the function turn on when pressing play on a video file, and normal operation = ok.

ok warning, well i guess warning (download elektra trailer, looks like rubbish) mov files (which most trailers are in, who knows why?) wont play in gbpvr (well i couldnt get them to play, i use quicktime alternative, which i *think* is just a codec so they can play in media player, but default is media player classic). anyways if any one knows how to get quicktime files working, or a source for non quicktime trailers (other than tv) let me know, i like trailers too, but i watch them just to watch them not prior a flick.

I don't know if Sub has incorporated the ability to launch external players from within GBPVR as I know he is concentrating on the lowest common denom, and player launching would break MVP compatibility with a plugin, but it would be nice to be able to specify that I could launch ZoomPlayer or some other player when playing videos or even trailers.

Anyway, take a look at the thread and you'll get a good idea of what it does.

Huh...welll I'm close... I have a stadium level seating in the room (i.e. two rows, one row on a platform). Oh and a small covered stage on the floor in front of the screen.

i wont ever add external player support. ever. i dont like it, gbpvr is a media center it should be able to do most of these things (if not all) itself, only a few things need to be external (dvd ripper, cd ripper, burners etc). a video playlist which will allow trailers to work is achievable via gbpvr, and well theres no plugin released at the moment to download trailers, so people have to do this manually, so you can also manually convert them to a playable format in gbpvr aswell.

i think thats all that plugin for meedio does, well really (also auto start vcds etc, i dont like this either). theres to many pages to read the full story, but i read the synopsis, not all that grand, gbpvr could do this internally. everyone who wants this, just beg sub to add the methods. i doubt they will make it into the next release however, maybe the one after that.

he said it wont make it into the next release (wasnt expecting it to), but likes the idea, so it will most likely be added eventually.

Sorry about that, will ever repeat that misstake again. It's just that raven is a well known word for me, but reven isn't. (Yet).

Thanks for your answer, you are indeed doing a great job with the video plugin. Otherwise no one would bother to ask for improvements!
