Trying to get my HD Homerun up and running and get to where I need to build the remap file, the link to the instructions on the SiliconDust forum doesn't work so I can't get to the instructions but apparently I need QamMapper, the site is up but the download link yields this:

Quote:The requested URL /HDHomeRun/QamMapper/QamMapper0-1-2-3.zip was not found on this server.

I have googled around and can't find this file elsewhere, anyone know of a mirror, etc. to this or the procedure to build the remap myself?

I'm in the midst of getting mine to work also. So, I'm not sure what all I have done but I don't believe that the remap file gererator is required anymore. I couldn't find it either but got it working without it.

Have you scanned and saved the channels using the channel editor?

Can you view your channels in VLC from the HDHomerun setup program channel editor?

My major mistake so far was to not manually exclude all four programs from windows firewall. Do this manually since Vista never popped up any warnings that these programs were being blocked. This is clearly stated in the instructions on the silicondust site but I never did it.

From whurlstons instructions:
1. If you are running a software firewall (Windows Firewall, Zone Alarm, etc), add the following files to the exception list:

GBPVRRecordingService.exe
GBPVR.exe
PVRX2.exe (GB-PVR 1.x)
Config.exe

2. Install the latest HDHomeRun software and firmware

I always started at step 2 and never could get any channels to scan in GBpvr.

Once I did this the "Map channels to...." screen worked and I was able to scan and setup my channels. I have now successfully recorded one QAM show after owning the HDHomerun for several weeks......

I did get it working, in my case I have another tuner card in my HTPC and I thought I had marked the HD channels disabled earlier but I didn't or I cancelled or something. Went back in, deselected "enable" for the channels in question on the other tuner, et voila!

Glad you don't have to remap, sounds like it was a pain!

Now I just have to figure out how to use my iMon remote with GB-PVR.

Sorry but I missed your post.

Glad you got it going. I removed QAM Mapper because it does not work with the latest HDHomeRun software. The latest software uses a lineup.xml file instead of the old hdhomerun_bda.remap file. The included lineup editor should now be used. I will still supply the QAM Mapper to anyone who wants it if they want to run the older version of the software but too many people were trying to use it with the new software so I removed the link.

Thanks for replying, I am trying to get Silicon Dust to update the sticky, it is very misleading!!!

Thanks for your work on the mapper, sounds like it was a god-send before they smoothed out the wrinkles.

Yeah, I'm kind of the responsible party on that. I will get it updated tonight.
