Client use with HD over wirelss, Anyone?

I am wondering if anyone is able to use GB-PVR client to watch LiveTV HD material (720p and 1080i) over a wireless network. I am successful in using it with a 100 MB direct connection with my laptop, but even with that I get hickups during playback. My laptop has similar specs as my server below, and I am using Cyberlink mux to playback HD mpg files from the server.

I am considering adding a TV and PVR system to my bedroom, but only if I can manage to get the client to work through my wireless network. I am using 54 G Netgear router. Standard def material and AVI movies work fine BTW.

I wouldn't trust it myself. Wireless is MAX 54mb per seconds but rarely acheives this - epsecially if you are going through walls (which I assume you must be or you wouldn't be wanting wireless) - Many have trouble playing back Lowdef stuff wireless so I think you'd be pushing uphill to get a good enough signal. In my experience 802.11a gives better throughput but weakens quicker with obstructions.

no chance with 54g. Your only hope with be with the latest wi-fi max (Pre-N) gear but it's gamble. In theory it can do 250MB but in real life, who knows. I had it running for a short while and could see 120MB but the overhead with wireless means that 100MB wireless < 100MB cable.

Thanks folks, I guess I am stuck unless I decide to pay to wire my home. Wireless N is still in draft, so I am not investing until it becomes a standard. But I am not sure that would do it either. I guess I will have to wait and then try a wireless N router and card, and see if that takes care of it.

He's talking about HDTV content (1080i/720p) rather than standard definition content.

Sub is correct, standard def is fine with my G network, HD is the problem.

What about the newer homeplug stuff homeplug A/V its suppose to be designed for what you want to do.
I dont have experience of it myself though.

I would have said not fast enough but I see that they do a 200MBit version now,
